White Wine Duo
White Wine Lover? Whether you like clean and fresh or a more complex flavour this duo has something for you!
'Amy' 2021 Barrel Fermented Chardonnay
Grapes from Lombardy, Italy
What's the wine like?
Think Burgundy with a London twist. One for those who like the classics but appreciate things move with the times. The oak contact lends a creaminess to the wine with a lovely mouthfeel, still the wine maintains a freshness and minerality that strikes a gorgeous balance with ripe stone fruits on the palate.
So how was Amy made?
50% of the grapes were whole bunch pressed and fermented in old oak ex Burgundy (90%) and new French oak barrels (10%).
The other 50% was de-stemmed by hand and fermented on the skins. Barrel aged for 7 months and went through full malolactic fermentation.
Weekly batonnage was applied to resuspend the lees. Bottled unfiltered and unfined with minimal additions of SO2 to prevent oxidation.
'Ewa' 2023 Pinot Blanc
Grapes from Hampshire, UK
What's the wine like?
Light-coloured wine with notes of apple and nectarines. It has got a savoury undernote with vanilla and flint aromas.
So how was Ewa made?
Hand harvested then shipped by Renegade in refrigerated trucks at 2˚C direct to the London winery.
The wine was made from two separate batches of Pinot Blanc. 65% was fermented as juice and the 35% with the skins to increase the overall complexity. The skin contact part was aged in old French oak and the other part in stainless steel. These were then blended together after malolactic fermentation. The wine then aged in stainless steel for a few months and was filtered before bottling.
Note: These wines, like all our wines, is vegan friendly. They are made without the use of animal based winemaking products.
