Hand harvested then shipped by Renegade in refrigerated trucks at 2˚C direct to the London winery.

Whats the wine like?

When we first made Charlie in 2020 he was a lime bomb, and this time the same citrus character is prominent but more balanced. Germany had a great harvest in 2022 with warm sunny weather ensuring ripe grapes perfect for skin contact. Stone fruits are also present on the palate, a textured mouthfeel and a structure that makes this wine a great match for strong flavours in food.

So how was Charlie made?

100% of the grapes were destemmed and fermented on skins for 7 days. We then pressed them off into stainless steel where it went through malolactic fermentation to round it out and soften it, battonage was applied to improve overall mouthfeel and complexity. Lightly filtered before bottling.
